avery is officially a big girl ~ she has started to eat food! for the past 6 months she has exclusively had breast milk so it was time to add food to her diet! i'm still impressed with myself for EBF (chatroom term for exclusively breast feeding)for so long. i still plan to do it as dr. says for the first year of avery's life her primary source of food and nutrition will be breast milk ~ food is just a fun addition! first up: rice cereal!

6 month check-up!

today Avery had her 6 month check up ... she's now up to 16lb 11oz (75%) and is 27" tall (90%)! had to get 3 shots today but was a trooper ~ her crying lasted less than 10 seconds!! she handles shots much better than mommy that is for sure! nick & i are excited for tonight ~ avery gets food for the first time yet ... which means mommy better head to the grocery store ... pictures to follow! :)

new trick!

avery's new trick is to get up on her hands and knees! she rocks back and forth so i think she wants to learn to crawl - such a strong baby!

today avery took her first trip into chicago to see our friends adam, ryan & monica, and jon & nikki. so funny to watch boys around a baby! :)

so apparently we forgot to blog last week ... sorry about that! we'll be better this week, we promise!

what we missed last week ~

** THREE home depot trips trying to find paint and supplies for some house projects
** pool party with ella & gabe
** mommy's 27th birthday (yes, there was a pity party!)
** grandma janet broke her foot (and yes, there was a pity party for this too!)
** avery's first wedding ... well she came for a drink at cocktail hour and then hung out with grandma & grandpa the rest of the night at daddy's hotel
** avery's first night in a hotel and she didn't do too bad! the pack and play really is a great mini crib for the road!
