4th of July

So I realize 4th of July was last Friday, not today, but since it was such a busy week in Glambanner world, I didn't get a chance to get my pictures off my camera/edited until now!  Our 4th of July was awesome - just how I pictured it - afternoon margaritas with girlfriends, pool time, kids popping pull-string poppers and finger painting fireworks, a delicious dinner from the grill and an amazing fireworks show courtesy of downtown Rockford!  My Avery may have an irrational fear to many, many things, but thankfully, fireworks are not one of them!

7 Months

I'm well aware that I am about 3 weeks late in this post, but when your camera takes a swim in your friend's pool, you have no choice but to wait until your new camera arrives to take the picture!   Harper is 7 months and is so much fun!  She truly is such a happy baby, always smiling and laughing.  Happy babies are always cute, but it makes me especially happy after 9 weeks of nasty colic when she was a newborn.  I was nervous she would never stop screaming and crying and am so glad that those days are long, long, long gone!

* sleeping - still great!  bedtime is between 7-7:30pm and she's in her crib until 8am.  Naps at10 and 2, so she is really only awake for a couple hours at a time.  I thank my lucky stars every day that she is a great sleeper!
* eating - this chick looooooooves food.  she screams for another spoonful before she even swallows.  this mama can not move fast enough.  so far she has tried a whole bunch of stuff - applesauce, pears, sweet potato, peas, pumpkin, banana, broccoli applesauce, and so far the only thing she has refused are green beans!  She is also a huge fan of puffs!  we are up to 3 bottom teeth - nothing on top yet!
* playing - ms. harper is getting into everything!  she can crawl as quick as a spider and is pulling up on everything.  anything and everything goes into her mouth so i try and keep plenty of toys spread around each room that we are in to keep her out of trouble.  such a fun age, but so hard to get things done when you have 1 eye on her at all times.
* wearing - 6/9 month clothes + pjs and size 2 diapers.

Twas a Pinteresting Father's Day

Wow, first post in over 2 weeks.  Just call me slacker!  I know Father's Day has come and gone, but since I am a lover of Pinterest, I just wanted to give credit where credit is due to my Pinterest friends for hooking me up this year!  My dad & husband got a Pinterest board for Father's Day ... what did your dads get?! :)

Let's Get Patriotic

Because I can't resist having my house decorated for the holidays, any holiday for that matter, I throw up my red, white + blue stuff up at the end of May for Memorial Day and keep it up through the middle of July for the 4th.  This year I got lazy and reused my wreath and fireplace banner, but since my bar cart is new, I couldn't resist styling that up a bit!  Check out the cocktail napkins - "Party Like It's 1776." Now, that's something I can get behind!

6 months!

181 days.  26weeks. 6 months ... no matter how you say it Harper is a half of a year old!
 She is such a sweetie pie - it's hard to think of the days when she had colic and couldn't stop screaming and crying.  She is developing such a fun personality and she is changing every day!  Month six is going to be a big one for her!  New this month - starting real food.  Last week she tried rice cereal once - and was not a fan, so today I gave her her first 'real food' - banana.  Again, she was not a fan (I swear Avery gobbled everything we put on her spoon!), but hopefully she will like it a little more each time I try.  She is also mastering "the worm" which I can only imagine within a couple of days is going to turn into a legit crawl.  {{Cue scrambling to baby proof + put a gate up on the staircase!}}  Next week brings her 6 month photo shoot with the fabulous Kelsey and 6 month check-up!

Mother's Day Gifts

Whoa - two posts in 1 week - who am I?!  :)  In case you are looking for last minute Mother's Day gift ideas, I thought i would share what our moms are getting this year a little early.  After swooning over this DIY neon dipped pot I found on Pinterest, I knew I wanted to make those, but wanted to put something other than plants in them.  So, here you go - potted wine & a tank top bouquet!
 The wine gift was very simple.  Glambanners hooked me up with some white glitter flowers and after a little tissue paper stuffing and pipe cleaning bending, potted wine was born!  I even found a bottle with a family tree label and cutesy little snippet about the importance of family on the back!
 The tank top bouquet was just as easy!  After an ah-mazing sale at Old Navy, I bought my mom 3 tank tops (coordinating colors only add to the cute factor).  I folded them up length wise until I had a skinny strip of fabric, rolled up them and tied a ribbon towards the bottom to keep them from falling apart.  Again, stuff in some tissue paper, make some leaves out of green pipe cleaners and stuff em' in!
What are you getting the special mama in your life this year?!  Here's last year's gift if you need another idea!
